This isn't the first time he's betrayed her. It won't be the last.

But he's kissing her now and it doesn't matter that he's only doing it because somewhere down the line, he's going to use it to destroy her. When his lips are on hers she thinks she can finally feel. Not the pathetic memories of emotion that make her angry and bitter because she can't really even remember how good it would feel to actually be angry or bitter. Real feelings, like pleasure and joy and jealousy and heartbreak, things she'd never known it was possible to miss.

His tongue inside her mouth, tasting her. His body pressing hers back against the wall. Something a little like love and a lot like hate flooding through her, bringing her back to life for now, and isn't that what the Nobodies are chasing anyway.

He's gotten too cocky recently -- he forgot about her hands. She wants to take advantage of that now, while he's distracted with a hand in her hair and his lips pressed against her, but she can't force herself to break the kiss, not yet. It can't hurt to want this, to move her mouth in time with his. She knows what he's doing, and that means it can't hurt her, except it always does, in all the little ways that she'll never admit.

There's a pause for breath, and she knows that if she doesn't do it now, he'll keep going and she just can't let him get away with that. She plunges the knife into his arm, and the false, brittle smirk is back and she knows she says something witty and devastating but she can't remember what it is. His eyes flash in the darkness, and as much as she wants him to be surprised or hurt he simply isn't. He laughs, shrugs it off, invincible.

He leaves, and she knows where he's going. To Roxas, the only one he actually cares about. She draws her cloak around her, tells herself that it won't happen again. Next time, she'll be the one to play him, and won't it be funny when he falls into her trap. She's lying, but it doesn't matter, because she's a Nobody and they don't have to tell the truth.

"Some things never change," he'd said, a wide grin spreading across his handsome face. He'd run a finger along her cheek, let it drift down her neck to play with the zipper of her cloak. 'You'll always betray me,' she'd whispered to the darkness. The 'I'll let you' had remained unspoken.
